Academic Advising
At Providence College, academic advising helps students develop educational plans that align with their interests and career pursuits through a holistic lens. Serving students from a holistic perspective, equips them with the tools and resources to be resilient and thrive as they navigate their academic journey.
Academic advising in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) is a team-based model in which students are supported, at a minimum, by an academic advisor and a faculty advisor. The academic advisor advises students for their first two years before transitioning over to their faculty advisor. The academic advisor will continue to serve as a resource for all students in SNHS throughout their time at Providence College.
In collaboration with the Health Professions Advisor, the Student Success Center, Chirico Career Center, the Personal Counseling Center, the Office of the Registrar, and the Center for Engaged Learning, the academic advisor will:
- Guide students as they are transitioning and integrating into Providence College
- Provide personalized academic advising through one-on-one and group advising sessions
- Connect students to resources on campus that aid in their success
- Teach students to have autonomy over their personal and academic goals
- Assist students in exploring their interests through campus involvement
Current students can schedule a meeting by email, phone or online.
