About SNHS

For the first time in its 105-year-history, Providence College is offering academic programs in nursing and health sciences through the newly established School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS).

On September 12, 2022, the Rhode Island Board of Nurse Registration and Nursing Education granted formal approval for the bachelor of science in nursing program. It is the first nursing program approved by the state in a decade.

In addition to a new undergraduate program in nursing, SNHS also offers a new bachelor of science in health sciences program and PC’s existing bachelor of science in health policy and management. This interdisciplinary approach provides students with endless opportunities for career exploration in nursing and health-sciences related industries.

The new School of Nursing and Health Sciences is the college’s fifth school, joining the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Professional Studies, and School of Continuing Education.
